Types Based on Sampling Position:
· Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS): Used for sampling tissues in the
gastrointestinal tract.
· Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS): Used for sampling tissues in the
lungs and mediastinum.
Application:
· Used for ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy and tissue
sampling.
· Targets diseased tissues like those in the esophagus, stomach,
duodenum, pancreas, gallbladder, trachea, bronchial branches,
lungs, mediastinal, and hilar lymph nodes.
